Omar Bradley

“Leadership is intangible, and therefore no weapon ever designed can replace it.” Not as flamboyant as Patton or Montgomery, Omar Bradley is something of a mystery among the Allied command staff. Unlike the larger-than-life George Patton, Bradley was down-to-earth, quiet and polite. Some say he was well-beloved by his soldiers for being respectful and “on the level” - others say he was neither well-beloved nor well-known, rarely appearing among his soldiers. Nonetheless, by the end of the war he was in command of 43 Divisions - more than any other general in the history of the United States.
