The Deep was built in great secrecy by the government of Conglomerate City as a scientific and research center following the launch of the first chemical bombs. The initial idea was to gather a team of scientists able to develop a solution to acid rain in a remote and safe place. However, due to some corrupt officials, the location of the Deep was revealed to some Corporations that attacked the place, raiding and exterminating the scientific community that had settled there. Now it remains a semi-uninhabited place, at the center of legends and stories that revolve around abyssal creatures. Fables for children, some would say. Those who never went to that remote place, of course.
